Privacy Policy

dotparty is a set of small games you can play alone or with friends, in the iPhone app and at dotparty.avenapp.com. It is made by Muhammed Karataş (“we”). This page explains what happens to your information when you play.
- No account and no sign-up.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don't sell or share your data.
- Your progress stays on your device.
- In a room, the name you pick and your moves go to the other players, live, and are not stored.
- Voice chat goes straight between players' devices and is never recorded.
On your device
Your coins, scores, best times, daily task, settings (such as the language) and the name and avatar you choose are saved only on your device, in the app's storage (on the web, in your browser's storage for this site). They are not sent to us. Deleting the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, removes them. “Reset progress” at the bottom of the home screen clears your progress.
Playing together
When you create or join a room, your device connects to our real-time server (dotparty-db.avenapp.com), which we run ourselves. To make the game work it passes the following to the other players in the same room, while you play: the room code, the name and avatar you chose, and your game state (such as positions, moves and scores). This is relayed live and not saved in a database; when everyone leaves, the room is gone. Use a nickname rather than your full name. Invite links (dotparty.avenapp.com/join/CODE) contain only the room code.
Voice chat
In Dark House, players close to each other in the game can hear each other. The microphone is used only if you allow it, and only during that game. Your voice goes directly to the other players' devices (peer-to-peer WebRTC): it does not pass through our servers and is never recorded. To connect, the devices exchange short setup messages through our real-time server, and may ask Google's public STUN servers (stun.l.google.com) to help them find each other; those servers see your IP address for that. You can turn the microphone off in the game at any time, or deny access in your device's settings.
Server logs
Like any website, our web server and real-time server keep technical logs, such as IP address, time and what was requested. We use them only to keep the service running and secure, keep them only as long as needed for that, and don't combine them with anything else.
What we don't do
We don't show ads, use analytics or tracking tools, collect your location, contacts or photos, or sell or share personal data with anyone.
Apple
The App Store and TestFlight are run by Apple. If you agreed to share app analytics with developers in your device settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash and usage statistics under Apple's privacy policy.
Children
dotparty is for a general audience. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and we don't store personal information on our servers. Names chosen in a room are visible to the other players in it, so a nickname is best.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Turkey's KVKK), you can ask what personal data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. As described above, we keep no personal data beyond short-lived technical logs. For any request, write to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
